Color Me Monday: Heavenly Blue

Scrapbooking is my passion, but guess what I love just as much?

Color! I love every single color in my crayon box. Do you remember holding your first big gigantic box? Remember how the crayons smelled when you cracked open the bend-back lid? Seeing that rich rainbow of perfection was one of the most exciting moments of my childhood. I used to hold my crayons most carefully so they wouldn’t break, and one of my favorite things was taking my crayons and mixing them together to create a unique color or combination. Not surprisingly, I’m still doing that today! I love experimenting with colors to keep my art unique and beautiful. So I thought I would share my color keys—my wild color experiments from the Close To My Heart “crayon box”—with you. Each Monday I’ll show you a new combination in our wonderful exclusive Close To My Heart colors. I think you’ll find fun ideas for your art projects, and it’ll be a great way to brighten any Monday and kick start a new week.

Today’s featured color is Heavenly Blue using Garden Green, Desert Sand, and Sorbet as secondary and supporting colors. Discover this “heavenly” combination for yourself and I’ll share more colorful artwork inspirations next week!

I’m Tickled Pink for National Scrapbooking Month!

Scrapbooking has long been a passion of mine, and I’m thrilled there is an entire month dedicated to this wonderful, inspiring art form that helps us preserve our treasured memories! Every year in May, Close To My Heart creates an exclusive product to celebrate. This year, it’s our “Tickled Pink” scrapbooking kit, which includes everything you need to make two complete 12”x12” layouts—including some oh-so-easy die cuts for stamping and sheets of gorgeous glitter paper. Got Goals

The weather is starting to warm and it’s time for spring cleaning—and I’m not talking about reorganizing my shelves but revisiting my goals! Now that we’re one-third of the way through the year, I think it’s a great time to review annual goals and ensure that how I spend my time is aligned with how I want to spend my life! If you feel like it’s tough to keep your goals in focus, why not keep them right in front of your eyes? Check out this adorable goals wall hanging. It includes paper circles (cut from the 5 ¼” Coluzzle template) attached with grosgrain ribbon and metal embellishments. Each circle emphasizes a different life area, from health to family to personal goals. It’s beautiful enough that it makes a great addition to a kitchen wall, a craft room, or a den, but also practical enough that it reminds me EVERY DAY what’s truly important.

For this goals wall hanging, I used the “Emporium” Level 2 paper packet, plus favorite stamp designs from the “Cottage Floral” (B1306) and “Noteworthy” (D1329) stamp sets. You always knew goal setting was great, but with this great project, goal setting is also gorgeous!
