Forever Strong

I was fortunate enough to have been invited to the premiere of an uplifting and inspiring movie called Forever Strong. Go see this movie!! It is based on the true story of someone I have known in the business world as the "Getaway Guru," Larry Gelwix. What an amazing story he has. What an amazing man. Larry is one of the owners of a corporate travel agency and has helped plan many wonderful and exciting trips for hundreds of Consultants at Close To My Heart, but now I know the real man behind the story.

Larry has been a coach for the Highland Rugby team in Salt Lake City, Utah, for over 30 years. He has touched many hearts and changed many lives. Perhaps that is why I have been drawn to do business with him. We have the same mission. A part of the movie that left an impression on me was the phrase "Kia Kaha," which is from the Maori (the indigenous people of New Zealand) language, and translated means "Forever Strong." I have a connection to the Maori people of New Zealand through my dear friend Monica and her husband, Jody, who is from New Zealand. To be able to go to the movies with them also added to this special evening. To quote Larry, "Our goal isn't to win games. Our goal is to do our best. When we do, the wins come." It is inspiring knowing people who care about making a difference in others’ lives, and I feel so blessed to be surrounded by these kinds of people. I am better for knowing them.
