Ashley is one of my favorite people in the whole world. This makes me one of the luckiest people because she happens to be my eldest daughter. As we continue to grow older together, we become better best friends. The thing I love most about her is she is such a genuine person and she has such a good and giving heart. There isn’t anything we can’t talk about. But the best thing is when we get together, we laugh until we are rolling on the floor crying!
A few mornings each week I go to her home and have her style my hair before work. She is an awesome hair stylist. It isn’t that I can’t do my own hair—it’s that I really hate to do all that round brushing and pulling my hair with one hand, while blow-drying it with the other. So call me uncoordinated! I have long hair! I love going to see her because it really keeps us connected and I am able to see Noah and Belle before they head off to school. It is a routine I am incredibly grateful for. Ashley and I love to talk about politics, kids, relationships, and just about anything funny. I swear I have to redo my make-up every time because I laugh so hard I cry it off! She is so good for my soul and I will always be grateful for my mornings spent with her.

I dream about having that relationship with my daughter someday. How wonderful that you can enjoy that time together.
ReplyDeleteOh Jeanette! It is so sweet to read about your relationship with Ashley. One of my most treasured things is my relationships with my girls. I always hope and pray that we can be good friends as they get older and have families of their own. So, it's especially sweet to me to read about you and Ashley!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I wish I were close enough to my precious daughter to have her style my hair. How wonderful that you realize your special connection and blessing! I'm happy just reading your post!

What a beautiful young woman Ashley has become!
ReplyDeleteAnd what a great story about your relationship now with her.
It's funny....Haley and I do "beauty parlor" day about every 6 weeks when we color her hair!
It pains me to color that beautiful blonde hair, but gives us girl time too, so I can't complain.
This must be a generational thing...I remember my mom doing my perms years ago!(but we won't be reliving that anytime soon!)
Your Ashley is such a beauty! And a sweetheart I might add. I treasure those moments with my grown daughters as well. They have a small cafe and I work with them once a week just so I can stay connected and be there if they need me in a pinch. We are celebrating my Oldest's birthday this week by going to a spa all day! Now THAT will be FUN!
