The 15th Day of Thanksgiving: I Love Technology

I’m the kind of girl whose heart goes pitter-patter when a new electronic gadget comes out on the market. Palm Pilots, cell phones, mini DVD players, digital cameras, iPods, and don’t forget my favorite—computers! If it’s new technology, I want it! New technology is what I’m all about. Our corporate mission statement includes the words, “Faster, Simpler, Easier...” or as we like to call it, the “FSE Philosophy,” and I’m always looking for ways to make business “FSE.”

I started my business when everything was done manually. Here’s a photo of me way back when. I used to gather the mail from our Consultants, open the orders, organize them, and hand tally each stamp request line-by-line every day!

And if that weren’t enough, after the orders were tallied, I would burn rubber—rubber for stamps, that is! I would produce stamps around the clock. I remember putting my little ones to bed and sleeping on the floor in between rubber cooking times. My, how things have changed! Processes have changed. Machinery has changed. Technology has changed.

I’m no longer in the rubber stamp business so that meant doing away with old equipment and welcoming newer, faster, and better processes, materials, and machinery. It is so smooth. I thank our employees who produce our amazing My Acrylix® stamps. They are all artists in their own right.

So let’s talk computers, okay? All I can say is they are gifts from heaven! I love them. I am so grateful because the whole world is connected. Truly, it’s a new day. Computers have made my life easier. I can still remember hand gluing each stamp design on non-repro blue pages before sending my catalog off to print. Whew! I am so glad those days are in the past, because they definitely weren’t “FSE.”

Oh yes, I love technology. It’s so FSE. (Can you hear me singing?) I can hardly wait to see what’s next!
