Blogging is a blast, and I hope you enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy writing it. But some days, as I’m putting together a new post, I wonder what topic will be of greatest interest to YOU.
So today, I’ll ask you directly. What topics would you like me to address? I’m regularly asked questions about my business, my scrapbooking room, my creative process, my business history and product innovations… among others! I love your blog...thank you for sharing! The reason I visit blogs is for inspiration with my paper crafting. You create such beautiful "things" so my question to you would be how do you do it? Where do you start? Do you sit down with a CTMH paper packet and just start cutting? How do you get inspired? AND I LOVE how you share the how-to instructions...I usually start with someone else's idea and then modify to create my own. Thanks again for sharing not only your art, but yourself too!

ReplyDeleteI have hever heard about "close to my heart" till couple days ago... I went to the website and found your blog here. Everything you write about is so personal and seemes like it really comes from your heart and now I understand why you named your company like that. I am from Russia and we do not do scrapbooking there the way you do it in America, but I myself and I know that many other ladies in Russia love paper crafts.
My husband and I are missionaries and I do some ladies outreaches in our little community where we serve the LORD and I see cardmaking with stamps as a great way to make such an outreach special for the ladies in Russia.
I will sure try some of CTMH products and all your ideas and layouts are VERY beautiful.
My question: When you make an album do you have a theme for it or it is random pictures that you love to put together in a scrapbook? If you do have a theme for every album how you pick it? Do you know the number of the albums you made?:)

hmmmm.....i enjoy seeing your work..what you personally create. What I, as a consultant, would LOVE to see...is the process. From drawing an image, to creating the stamp, to assembling in package to wharehouse....just how it happens

I love all of your entries. They make me feel warm on days when it is hard to be postitive. I was wondering what do you do on days that don't seem to be going in the right direction to get them turned around. I was also wondering do you design all of you products, do you have a design team? Are you ever looking for new designers?

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things about this company is how CURRENT everything is - I remember when the catalogs were nothing but inks and stamps - all the new embellishments, metal, chipboard, etc is wonderful. And I love all the texture on the layouts in the catalogs.
My question has already been asked - I have always been curious about the process of designing the stamps, from idea to sketch to stamp, and wondered if it would be possible to see a photo tour of the process and/or the facilities?

ReplyDeleteI too love your blog!! And as a consultant for almost 10 years I've been dying to know.. How far in advance do you plan the catalog?
Such as we are already on the spring catalog, Is the summer one your planning or are you already working on the fall/winter catalog?
Also when your doing the How to books. Have you had LO's already long planned in your head, or do you just sit down and starting doing them? I too would love to see the behind the scenes of planning the catalog, the art dept, wearhouse, shipping and receiving :) Thanks for asking! Jill Bodin

ReplyDeleteAlso, do you allow tours or consultants into the wherehouse/offices? Is it something you would ever consider? Or highlighting in a Keynotes issue? Or doing a "retreat" type event AT the headquarters? Sometimes I am more intrigued by the business side of CTMH than the products themselves- it is an amazing company and would be an inspriational case-study to those immersed in the business or manufacturing worlds (okay, or maybe just ME)!

do you ever get scrapbook burnout..how do you keep yourself from getting "burnout" (motivated) and what do you do if you do get "burnout"... I love CTMH and being a consultant. I have wonderful customers!!! I LOVe scrapbooking! but sometimes..I get a creative blah!!! my brain short circuits and I can't focus on the projects I want to finish.. I have to really push myself...

I would love to know who designs the stamp images? Do you employ "in house" designers? Do you, Jeanette, create the designs? If someone wanted to submit designs, is there a process for this?

I love your blog... thanks for sharing! I really like how you gave instuctions on how to do the lollipops,the papers you used etc. I look at some of the things you make and I have my nose up against the compter screen trying to figure out how you did that. I wish I had half your energy.Now I'm off to Walmart to get some lollipops.

Jeanette, I just love the posts. I love seeing what you are working on and what your family is up to. I love the recipes too. When you work on your scrapbooks do you have themed albums or just albums by year? I am loving my album we did at the Album Retreat and think I am going to use the format to catch up on some of my older pictures . . . it's covering about 4-5 years of my kids when they were little. Thank you for your blogs!
