Color Me Monday: Give Yourself the Blues

I love all the Close To My Heart blues, but one I gravitate to whenever I reach for my paper palette is Indian Corn Blue. It’s the color of my favorite jeans, of a summer morning sky, and so many other cozy, cheery, favorite things in my life. I find that the richness of Indian Corn Blue is the ultimate chameleon: it’s super adaptable and complements just about any scheme or theme. For today’s color combination, I chose to pair the ever-flexible Indian Corn Blue with a more challenging color: Taffy. Taffy is a great color, but sometimes it’s a trick to find just the right fit for it in artwork. I think you’ll see here that just a hint of Taffy and Sorbet (such yummy flavors and colors!) blend beautifully with my perennial favorite blue. Try using this “true blue” favorite with “tricky Taffy” and you’ll bring out the best in both!

  16. I'm thrilled that you're keeping up the color group Mondays! This is absolutely beautiful! You are SO right about the ICB being like a favorite pair of blue jeans! Your scrapbook page PROVES it!!! I think it was the 2nd color I purchased (back when it was DOTS) and I still love the autumn colors best.
    Thank you Jeanette!
