Bring The Outdoors In!

For today’s Color Me Monday post, I chose four fabulous colors that will complement virtually any “outdoor” project. That’s because it centers on four colors you’ll find abundantly in nature and the photos you take while outside—it makes it a snap to use your photos for dazzling results in your scrapbook layout. The combination uses Clover Meadow, the hue of lawns and leaves; Heavenly Blue, the color of a perfect summer sky; Colonial White, the soft shade of afternoon clouds, and Bamboo, a great dusty neutral to tie everything together.

You’ll see how perfectly this color combination ties together with the layout featuring my grandkids “on wheels”—Belle’s blue shirt and eyes, the green grass of the landscape background, and the blues and browns in the photos of big Noah teaching little Mason the fine art of bike riding. The Bamboo tones everything down so the Clover Meadow and Heavenly Blue can pop without being overbearing. I absolutely love the results!

For fun, I also experimented with the color scheme on a birthday card—perfect for a little-boy look; and a fabulous bug-collecting jar too cute for critters but perhaps just right for some gummi worms for the kids!

  5. I just LOVE these colors!!!! I do have a question about the Clover Meadow paper used on the layout: What tool or system did you use to cut all those circles to put on the B&T under the pictures? What a great idea!

Thanks for sharing you and your inspiring art!
