Back To School In Style!

Nothing says “back to school” better than a new pair of jeans and the turning of the leaves. I’ve incorporated the colors of BOTH of these elements into my back-to-school color combination, which features Outdoor Denim and Autumn Terracotta, as well as Honey highlights and a touch of White Daisy. These classic fall colors are as fresh and crisp as an autumn morning, and they’re incredibly versatile. For my projects, I was inspired to create a classroom “rescue” kit, featuring fun items for every letter in the alphabet… “N” is for notebook, “W” is for “water” and so on. Although I created these for my grandchildren Belle and Noah, I have a feeling that such a kit would be the ideal gift for a new teacher: what a way to start the year off with a smile!

For my high-school-aged daughters, I created a card for each—stamping a “lined paper” and “library checkout slip” design to weave the school theme in. My messages of “good luck” and “remember” are carried over to the inside, where I can share my love and hope for each of them. I’m so proud of my children and their hard work, that saying it aloud isn’t enough: I wanted to give them each a card to treasure to remember that I may not be in the classroom with them, but I’m still rooting for them all the way.

So, while the kids are in school, take a creative recess for yourself! Experiment with this fabulous fall color combination and discover you don’t have to be in school to learn (and love!) something new.
