On Friday morning, many of our Consultants boarded buses bound for Milford Sound in the gorgeous fiordland region of the south island. It really is a breathtaking sight not to be missed—seals sunning themselves, steep waterfalls plummeting into crystal blue waters, sheer cliff faces, and striking green valleys backed by snow-kissed mountains. While they took in all the beauty, I decided to stay behind and explore Queenstown on my own.
What a treat! I took a leisurely walk through the city gardens and just sat by the lake, soaking up the picture-perfect day. (I tell you, I nearly forgot altogether that it was JANUARY!) I found a salon and treated myself to a ‘do—those who know me know that humidity is no friend to my thick, naturally curly hair, which needs plenty of taming! What can I say but that I thoroughly enjoyed a day to reflect and wander in Queenstown.
By dinner time, the whole crew had returned and we sauntered downtown for dinner. We happened upon a pizza restaurant where we could eat on a patio and enjoy the cooling evening, the delicious fare, and perhaps the worst singer I’ve ever heard. Poor guy—he really had no vocal talent. Thankfully, the great food and ambiance compensated and delivered a relaxing, fulfilling evening.
