Wondering where I’ve been lately? I’ve been doing absolutely, positively nothing on a beautiful, perfect vacation in paradise. And I loved every minute! I decided to escape for a quick retreat to a beach full of white sand, crashing waves, and a good wi-fi connection (I didn’t want to take a vacation from my iPad!).
I took my youngest daughter, Aubrey, and the two of us had some great mom-daughter time. I love to spend one-on-one time with each of my kids and find it’s the best way to really get to know their heart. School is just around the corner, so this gave us a chance to talk about the excitement and plans for the coming year. How I love Aubrey and her amazing, intuitive spirit—I often think that she may be my youngest child, but she’s definitely an “old soul.” I spent mornings on the beach, reading and web-surfing (the only kind of surfing you’ll catch me doing!), and even managed to finalize some stamp set designs and paper kits you’ll be seeing soon in our new Spring/Summer idea book early in 2011.
During the heat of the afternoons, Aubrey and I would hang out indoors—visiting, relaxing or shopping. Then, we’d end the day watching the sun set over dinner—we love our comfort food, but we’re always willing to try something new, too.
So, you ask, where are all the photos of this amazing vacation? Actually, I took only ONE photo on this particular trip—ONE. This was an outing to a favorite destination so I already have many many scrapbook layouts of past visits here... On this trip, I wanted to be completely in the moment and savor the sunny days and sweet conversation with Aubrey. I may have taken only one photo, however, I think you’ll agree that it COMPLETELY represents this particular trip. Enjoy! (I certainly did!)

Absolutely, PERFECT. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope you have a wonderful time with your daughter. It is always a wonderful feeling to spend some alone time with your mom and daughter.
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY priceless!
ReplyDeleteThat photo couldn't have been better; your shadows, feet near the sand, shadow of the tree leading up the water?! Amazing!
So where were you?
ReplyDeleteIt looks AMAZING!
Absolutely an amazing "picture is worth a thousand words" photo. That would be my ideal "surfing" vacation. I also would be surfing the web and not the waves. LOL. Thanks for sharing.
