Color Me Monday: Bold, Bright, Beautiful!

In addition to the splash of summer color, I also love the strong use of paper medallions in the various projects, like the banner and the ribbons. These are SO easy to make! Simply start with a strip of paper (you can choose the length and width—remember that the longer your strip is, the more “dense” your medallion will be, and the wider your strip is, the larger the diameter will be of your finished medallion. Fold the strip into sections, accordion-style, back and forth. When the entire strip is folded, pinch one end together and use a paper piercer to make a hole through the entire stack of folded paper. Then quickly stitch a single stitch through the hole and pull the strip into a circle. To close the circle, use your favorite adhesive. You’ll now have a great little medallion with a stitch-gathered center—cover the center with a button, cardstock, or other embellishment and voila! A perfect medallion ideal for dressing up any item in your “carnival” of color!
