Peace

It’s Christmas Eve—I love this day. It’s bursting with anticipation, but also sweet with reverence. Children are working overtime to be good; parents are working overtime to be patient. We’re all just a little kinder, a little warmer, a little more hopeful.

Today, the stresses of work pale against new fallen snow. The worries of the world seem a million miles away when family is near. And conflict, strife, and uncertainty—three constants in our lives today—take a holiday. A brief, wonderful holiday where we can focus on joy. Where we can focus on Him. Where we can focus on peace.

May you enjoy this day of peace, and may we all endeavor to do as Charles Dickens wished, to “honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all year.”
