Welcome 2011! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and had plenty of opportunities to hug those you love and celebrate your blessings. I know I did! I have a ton of memories and just as many photos—however, my son Jared was "our holiday photographer" and without warning he took his cute little family and his camera, off to Disneyland. So you’ll just have to take my word for it.
I love the new year and the chance it brings to revisit personal goals and to look forward with faith and optimism. And I DO feel optimistic and excited for the coming year! Next week, we’ll be holding our Team Builders Conference in Salt Lake City. My teams are putting final touches on presentations, creative projects, and even some last-minute surprises that I think attendees will be excited to hear about. And for those who can’t attend but are eager to hear all about our product strategies, upcoming events, and even some of our exciting compensation plan proposals, don’t worry, there will be plenty of communication in the coming weeks for you to learn all about it! 2011 is definitely going to be a magical year and I’m so glad to be a part of it!
And while I’m sharing thoughts on goals and optimism, I hope you don’t mind my sharing a personal goal of mine that I’ve made progress on in the past year. For some time, I’ve been working to lose weight—a pretty common goal for many of us, right? I decided to make 2010 MY YEAR to invest in myself and my health, and just by making sensible decisions and being consistent with exercise, sleep, and all those other good choices we busy people tend to forgo, I have lost 45 pounds. Even though I have more to go, I love the way I feel and the energy I have. It’s wonderful! If you’ve been “waiting” to make a change, and it doesn’t matter what it is—losing weight, starting an exercise program, reinvigorating your Close To My Heart business, learning a new skill or returning to school—I’m here to tell you that the investment is WORTH IT! As I used to tell my children, “You can do hard things.” And when you do, you will find rich rewards for your effort. Here’s to a joyful 2011!

WooHoo!! Good for you Jeanette!! Weight loss is so hard and keeping up on a program - so hard! I brought my gym clothes to work today to start back - wish me luck ;-)

45 cool points of success, Jeannette!
ReplyDeleteBecause you have done so many things in your life that most would never even think about, none the less accomplish, you have earned the respect of many.
Again you act as the leader you are and you continue to be inspiring.
While I hope to see more of you in 2011, I'm glad I'll be seeing less of you!
Mary
Whoo-hoo, Jeanette! CONGRATULATIONS on losing that much weight! Keep up the good (and hard) work!
ReplyDeleteHi Jeanette,
ReplyDeleteI have been working on weight loss for awhile now and have lost 50 pounds! Just wanted to share a quick tip that has really helped me. In addition to making my big goal of the new year (i.e. lose weight). I also make 12 smaller goals to help me get there. For example, my February goal is 5+ fruits and vegetables each day. My June goal is to purchase a pedometor and strive for 10,000 steps each day. The monthly goals seem much more attainable and keep my big goal fresh in my mind. Hope this helps you as much as it has helped me!
Way to go Jeanette! I decided in June I needed to embark on fitness/weight loss as I neared age 60. So far I am down 25, with lots to go but so proud of my progress. I am off to the pool for exercises 3 days a week. I needed physical therapy for arthritis and now they are thinking it is also fibromyalgia. so I need to keep that exercise going in 2011. And I am feeling so much better. My motto Sixty IS better! Not to moan about age but get on with a better life. :-) Hopefully I can focus more on CTMH and sharing what I love more! Thanks Jeanette for all your encouragement to create better lives for ourselves/ businesswise and lifewise also.
ReplyDeleteI'm so with you Jeanette. Last year was my year to get my "health" under control. I lost 25 pounds, had that lovely colonoscopy and mammogram with positive results and feel so much better about myself. Now I want more, or should I say less. I want to lose another 25 lbs. so I'll be working right alongside you. Exercise is the hardest but I do have 16 steps to climb each time I go between the two stories of my house. So, here's to us. Happy New Year. Gail Blask
ReplyDeleteWay to go Jeannette!!!! Having just lost a little weight myself, I know how hard it is. It seems that with each pound lost though, I get a new sense of accomplishment. Keep investing in yourself! You deserve it!!!!

Weigh to go Jeanette! You should be so proud of yourself. This is "MY" year as I am going to turn the big 40 and want to be fit and fabulous at 40 not flabby and 40 ;) I am off to a good start planning and walking. Anyway this isn't about me it is about you. Happy New Year. I am glad you and your family had a great holiday. I am really looking forward to your new challenge this year. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Jeanette on such a worthy accomplishment! Weight is always a challenge for me; after losing 20 pounds a few years ago, I now try to focus on fitness rather than food--that has helped me sooo much to maintain a decent "fighting" weight. And the bonus is, I'm able to keep up w/ my family on the ski slopes and the hiking trails--and THAT is the best reward of all!
ReplyDeleteHurrah for the fresh clean slate that is 2011!
Good for you, Jeanette! Keep up the good work. Happy New Year to you and yours and thanks for the Christmas card!
ReplyDeleteJeanette,
ReplyDeleteI just scrapped the picture of the two of us from Convention last night and was reminded of what a gorgeous woman you are. I am so excited to see the results of your hard work next week. Your new-found energy and self-satisfaction will make your eyes sparkle even brighter and your smile that much wider.
Thanks for sharing - Melissa
WAY TO GO JEANETTE! This is so exciting!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and the entire CTMH family! I am impressed that you took 2010 for you! So many mothers take great care of their flock and at times put themself on the back burner. In 2010 I began the FitLynx at the YMCA. I do not weigh myself but do notice when my clothes are not fitting the way I want them to so the weigh training was added. I am proud to say that my clothes fit much better, are one size smaller and I lifted the same as 62 elephants. Not bad for someone who had a spinal fusion 5 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see all the new ideas that my consultant will bring home!
Jeanette,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the weight loss! It has taken me 3 years to lose just as much as you lost this past year. Doesn't your body just feel amazing? I love having my clothes fit better and my self-esteem soar.
Plus, when I started my weight loss plan 3 years ago, I decided that I would not call it a diet. Instead, it is my way of making healthy choices. Choosing to live a healthy lifestyle can be very rewarding! Plus, it keeps you from tackling a "fad diet". Eek!
Best of luck with your health plans this year! Please check back with us next year to let us know how much farther you've come! :)
Jeannette,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being successful at your weight loss! It feels wonderful to be successful in anything that we do!
Jeanette, your accomplishmet is totally awesome!! Congrats and good job to you! Ever since I became a CTMH consultant, I have partially worked my business because I work another full time job. But... with Monica's Hawaii pictures, my goal for 2011 is to ramp up my business and earn that cruise. Things are already starting to fall into place because I have a "I am going on that cruise" attitude. Thank you for being such an awesome leader and I look forward to seeing you on that cruise!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on conquering that weight! And changing your habits to lose it. That is the hardest thing of all.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I met you in person, I was amazed at what a small physical person you are because your spirit is so big. You truly fill the rooms you are in with excitement and motivation. But I know your inner selves can feel much smaller than our outer bodies.
When I registered for Convention in DC and HAD to include a head shot, I could not find one that did not look like an elephant. That was my turning point. I was determined to look better by the time I got to Convention.
I don't remember how much weight I had lost by the time I got to DC, but enough that I felt confident enough to talk to people I didn't know yet. I am currently unable to wear the dress I wore to the Closing Banquet; it is too large. I have at least 10 more pounds to go, but I made it through the holidays without gaining any weight. That is a first!
We will all look forward to seeing how good you look at Disneyland! We are proud of you!
WOOHOO and congratulations Jeanette!
ReplyDeleteMaking changes are scary but so worth it. I too am losing the weight(again), exercising(again) but mostly I am working my ctmh biz each & every day. You are an inspiration, can't wait till convention time.
ReplyDeleteWHOOO HOOOO to you Jeanette!!! I am so happy for you! I am inspired by you each and every day, and this is just one more way for me to follow you along the path. You are a wonderful leader. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWay to go Jeanette! Wishing you health and all the happiness you can hold in this new year!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on keeping up the goal of living a healthy lifestyle! You continue to be an inspiration to me in so many ways. I look forward to all the wonderful changes you have in store for us this year!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Jeanette! One addition to my life that helped me achieve my weight loss and weight maintenance goals was to build rewards. I know that feeling healthier and having greater energy for your family and your passions are their own rewards. But I found myself motivated even more - especially when it came to the maintenance aspect of the process - when I built a reward in. Mine happened to be a monthly massage. I hope that you can find that special reward that is meaningful for you and enhances your world!
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS! Losing weight is not easy! Maybe 2011 will be my year to drop 45? Way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!! Thank you for sharing with us those things that make you such an inspiration! You share with us your creativity, your recipes, your family and even your trials and tribulations which help us to remember what we all have inside of us!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your 2010 success! I too share your weight loss struggle and hope to make 2011 the year that I lose some extra pounds. I want to be fit to enjoy Disneyland in July!
ReplyDeleteThanks for always being so inspiring!
Yay Jeanette! You go, girl! I decided right after last year's convention that I needed incentive to get on my treadmill so I'm "walking" to next year's convention in Anaheim. I'm almost halfway there already and have lost 14 pounds. I know how good I feel so I can imagine how light you're feeling. I'll make sure to get another picture with you so I can compare it with the others I have. Looking forward to seeing you in July!
ReplyDeleteThat is fabulous! So happy for you. Keep it up and before you know it you will be at your goal. Happy New Year to you and your family. May 2011 bring you happiness, love, good health and prosperity.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jeanette!! That is an amazing accomplishment. Keep it up! I hope 2011 is full of love, laughter & happiness!
ReplyDelete~Kristen
Good for you...the journey is long but worth it. Since the CTMH Med. cruise I have lost 85 pounds and just about to my goal! Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteShelly Johnson
We're proud of you for so many things, Jeanette! Way to set an example for us! That's my goal for the year. Having had my 4 babies, I am now ready to return to my pre-baby shape! Thanks also for the new catalogue - it is SUPER exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteWTG!!!!!! Losing weight is hard work and it takes alot of dedication. I have also lost 30 lbs. It has taken me 2 years to do this. But I knew it wasn't going to be easy and to keep with it everyday. Keep up your hard work and you will love yourself even more everyday!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jeanette!! That is awesome work! Losing weight is hard work, you have a lot to be proud of!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I have to share my goal this year is of course to drop a few pounds, & to invigorate my CTMH business! I just signed up in May, kind of as a hobbyist, I have a small group of ladies (3) that we meet and do a workshop every month. It's been fun, but not really a business yet. As this new year has started, I've already got 3 more ladies, possibly 1 or 2 more that are interested in joining a monthly workshop with me, YEA! And I'm checking into doing all day crops at local hotels. It is very exciting! I love this company!! Thanks for making it so wonderful for all of us!
Pam
Way to go Jeanette! Of all my goals, weight loss seems to be the hardest. Thank you for sharing about your goal, it inspires me. I am looking forward to convention this summer and to wanting to scrap my pictures when I return instead of feeling embarrassed about seeing myself with all the extra weight on me!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Jeanette! That's fantastic and I look forward to seeing you soon!
ReplyDeleteI think the hardest part of losing weight is getting started! With that hurdle out of the way, you're on your way to great success! I know that when YOU put your mind to something, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! Way to go!
