Easter blessings

I love this time of year. Not only is the earth renewing itself--it seems
the blossoms on the trees have just EXPLODED this week!--but I feel a
sense of deep gratitude and renewal,too. With each hopeful tulip bud or
each green shoot from a crocus, I am reminded that life is a gift, that
life renews, and that life is eternal because of the atoning sacrifice
made by my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Because of His death--and life--I have the promise to live again,
surrounded by those I love. I believe in that promise with all my heart
and it truly guides my actions and prayers daily. What great comfort it
gives me to celebrate Easter, to remember His suffering in Gethsemane, His
pain on the cross, and ultimately His rising again in triumphant life.
Everything about the earth at Eastertime seems to join the resounding
chorus that out of the cold and darkness of winter comes the beauty of new
life, new hope. He died to rescue me from the cold and darkness of sin. I
believe. I know. And because I know, I rejoice.
