Almost every girl I know loves something that sparkles and shines to brighten up life every once in a while. Adding a little bling here or a little glitz there just makes my heart happy. Glitz Glitter Gel can take an ordinary piece of art and turn it into something eye catching. I believe every piece of artwork deserves to be a little fun, sassy, and easy. One of the things I enjoy about using Glitz Glitter Gel is how simple and versatile it is to work with. The narrow tip on the bottle allows ease in the creation of small dots or lines that accent any stamp design.
The Two-Step Backgrounds stamp set (D1473) is really spiced up when dots of bling are added to the stamped design with the Glitz Gel.
Here’s the same technique, used to dress up an envelope liner made from B&T paper. A little sparkle to each dot on the patterned paper and the recipient of this card will smile in pure delight as she receives heartfelt thanks.
A party just isn’t the same without a little sparkle shining through. That’s why a sparkling cupcake liner will be the perfect addition to a fun festive event. You can make your own following these simple guidelines: To start off, cut the cupcake liner out of cardstock then stamp a background design over the entire front. (You can find a curved template for a cupcake topper online, or make one yourself sized to fit your size of cupcake pan.)
The tiny dot in the stamp set Hit the Spot (C1406) worked perfectly for this project’s patterned look.
Next, add one drop of Colonial White Re-Inker with one drop re-inker color of your choice to a craft jar.
Then add a dime size dollop of Glitz Glitter Gel to the concoction. (Two different concoctions were made for the cupcake liner--one with Hollyhock, the other with Buttercup.)
Mix everything together until uniform--the stylus does double duty as a great mixing spoon and applicator. Feel free to add more color a little at a time until the perfect shade emerges.
Apply the colored Glitz Glitter Gel to the stamped polka-dot pattern in a random fashion using the larger end of the stylus.
Sparkle, dazzle, or bling any way you put it, Glitz Glitter Gel is a great way to add shimmer to art projects and smile to someone’s day.

Very cute cupcake liner - wow.

ReplyDeleteI love the ideas for using the Glitter glue. I use this product in many of my projects and now I will add these ideas to the mix.
ReplyDeleteI also would love to know about the stationary box.
Thanks Jeannette.
The customized glitter glue with reinker saved me from a crafting disaster. Thank you so, SO much for posting this idea...I really needed it this week!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the stationary box, start out by making your cards (4.5 x 4.5) and then creating the box from a piece of coordinating cardstock. There is no template, but the base is made from a single piece of Hollyhock CS, the lid from a second, and then the divider inside uses a third piece.
ReplyDeletewhat size did you cut your cupcake wrapper
