Fun in the Sun!

Perhaps one of my favorite annual traditions is the Close To My Heart family summer party. I recognize that our employees are successful largely because they have wonderful friends and family to support them in their careers at the corporate office. That's why, this fun day, intended to thank both employees and their great "support network," is a real highlight.

For the past couple of years, we've headed to a local arcade/amusement center, chock full of video games, laser tag, bumper boats, mini golf and go-karts. When you add a barbecue buffet, endless sodas, and a pocket full of game tokens, there really is something for everyone! The kids particularly loved our face painter, who could conjure up everything from colorful butterflies to scary dragons in minutes. The grownups competed for "big prizes" in our bingo rounds. And everyone loved seeing all the new babies we've added to the family since last year's party, as well as marveling at how quickly our toddlers turn into teenagers.

What a wonderful way to play, welcome summer and take a deeeeep breath before the whirlwind of Convention takes over! While Convention is great fun, our company summer party is also great relaxation for our hard-working employees—thank you to each of you who give so much all year through, and to your wonderful families who support you in your success. We couldn't do it without you!
