Answer: One of the undeniable perks of my role is that I literally get to own every single stamp set Close To My Heart designs and produces. Every. Single. One. True, I may have more than I can use, and some have more personal meaning than others, but I love them all!
Since we moved to clear My Acrylix stamps seven years ago, the storage and organization of my stamps has gone from disastrous to delightful—in fact, I don't think my archive would even be possible if we had stayed with wood and rubber and all those odd sizes of blocks. Thanks to a large studio at home, and a great archive space in the office, everything stays catalogued and accessible in My Acrylix organizers—sometimes I feel like the New York public library, but with a stamp catalog instead of stacks of books! And yes, there are a very small handful of wood stamps that I've hung on to from the "good old days;" special sets that I hand drew that weren't produced in My Acrylix. I may not use these much, but they are among my treasured mementos and a fond reminder of my journey.
And as for the second part of your question: I actually own several non-CTMH stamps, believe it or not! I have two huge trunks full of old stamp sets from when I first started my business and I brokered other companies' stamps, prior to designing my own. Some of the brands I own are All Night Media, Inkling, PSX… some of you who have been stamping for decades like I have might remember some of those names; most of those companies are no longer in existence, but I occasionally go through those trunks and it's a wonderful walk down memory lane.

Never Too Many Stamps

I LOVE CTMH! Before I found CTMH, I purchased my stamps from another company...all wood mounted rubber stamps that I can't part with. That company now offers cling-mounting material for the purpose of converting wood-mount stamps to cling-mount stamps. Does CTMH have any plans to offer such a material for customers to be able to do this. I would love to give CTMH my money, rather than the other company.

ReplyDeleteI like Kellyz's question. I've noticed that the paper inside the envelopes are different colors, and I've grouped them by color. It seems like pink is "sentiments" and green is for fall, etc. Is there a method to the colors??
ReplyDeleteI have about 60 CTMH Sets. I have started color coding them with small sticky dots. Red for Christmas, Blue for Birthday, etc... and I also put the same color dot on the case they are in, so they always go back where they belong. For my wood handle stamps, I have shallow drawers to spread them out in, picture side up.

ReplyDeleteI, too, have several classic woodies that I can't give up like Whitney's Message. She was my first Stamp of the Month and the Fruit of the Vine set that was in my kit!
I also have a few virgin "what's up?" woodies stored away for a special day!

ReplyDeleteIt makes sense though. The marketing thing that CTMH is doing now about using the stamp and getting rid of them when you are done with them does not make sense to me. I would much rather have my awesome collection that I can sift through...
I had to sign up as a consultant once I got my hands on an Acrylix stamp at a party. I fell in love with the style AND the storage factor of our sets. There is no way I could store my 400+ sets(maybe closer to 450 now with this new Idea Book) with any other style of stamp.

I love how affordable it is to get ALL the sets I want (usually all the new ones) over the course of a book. Our cut-coordination with the AP cartridge is the most fabulous thing EVER and I'm hoping to see and buy a new cartridge every Idea Book to go with my stamps!

i dont think that you can have too many stamps...i use all kinds of stamps in my scrapbooking and i am always buying more
ReplyDeleteOh Jeanette . . . we want to see pictures of how you have them stored and the studio! Yes I remember PSX, ANM, and Inkling. I still have my PSX K-sized flower stamps. I also have my CTMH Cathedral Windows background stamp; it's just too pretty to part with!
