QUESTION: Do you ever find yourself using a CTMH product for something completely unrelated to paper crafting? For example, I like to use the bitty sparkles when I give myself a pedicure. If so, what do you use and how do you use it? --submitted by ladyxwolfxkaori, January 23, 8:37 pm
ANSWER: They say that necessity is the mother of invention, and when your life is filled with great craft supplies, there is bound to be a bit of interesting invention, right? I love the idea of using Sparkles as pedicure embellishments - I'm told they also work great as "earrings" for those without pierced ears. Personally, I store all of my pedicure supplies in our distressing kit. It's the perfect size!
While I've never done this myself, a co-worker says her daughter mixes colors of nail polish to create her own creations and stores them in our craft jars. I know of more than one pair of microtip scissors that have provided a quick haircut, and the My Acrylix organizers are faves for organizing lots of things, from a CD collection, to random piles of Legos, to even acting as a last-minute lunch box! Anybody else have some fun ideas? Post in the comments below; I'd love to read them!

I used Liquid Glass to repair my son's belt. The layers of it were separating and after trying all other glues and adhesives, I tried Liquid Glass and it worked!
ReplyDeleteI've used our Spritz for cleaning in a pinch. Bling brad to replace a button on a pair of shorts when no time to sew fix grommet (cover brad "legs" with foam tape to keep from scratching at waist.

My husband needed to file something small (USB cable end?) so I pulled out my CTMH file set!
ReplyDeleteI hemmed my grandmother's pants for church with glue dots, lol. And my hubby fixed a sensor on his car door with liquid glass and a dime!
ReplyDeleteI have used Liquid Glass to glue a ceramic spoon when it broke, and paper and ribbon to hide a scratched up vase. I cut a piece of B&T to match the flowers so it was the same height as the vase, wrapped it around and tied it with some CTMH ribbon. It got raves from everyone who saw it!

ReplyDeleteLiquid glass is apparently very popular. LOL I used it to help fix on of my son's LEGO mini figures, as well as letting him use a finishing file to modify one of his (again) LEGO mini figures.

ReplyDeleteI have used the craft jars to organize my daughter's earrings :D And Liguid Glass is my fall back adhesive for everything ( like the tiny cover on my husband's phone port came off so I used the tweezers and liquid glass to glue it back together :D)
ReplyDeleteI used Liquid Glass to fix the leg on my foot rest, we had tried all kinds of glue even the wood glue we used didn't work the leg kept falling off. It's been over a year now and the leg has stayed put!

just used a few ctmh products this weekend for my son's pinewood derby car for cub scouts. we used liquid glass to attach the weights and to plug up the hole (who needs wood putty when you have liquid glass?)...we also used the finishing files and sanding kit on the axels, wheels, and body of his car.
