As you know, our art studio artists pay close attention to what is trendy as they work on creating all of that fabulous artwork. Today’s spotlight artwork highlights a trend that one of our artists really wanted to try out: confetti. Just like the spray pen and paint splatters that are dominating so much artwork lately, confetti is a great way to fill in empty space with color and interest. As usual, our fabulous studio artists have found some fun ways to apply the trend to some wonderful artwork:
On this scrapbook page, you’ll agree that the confetti adds a nice sense of motion and whimsy. The confetti pieces are punched out of a variety of patterned papers and cardstocks using a normal hole punch. Our artist found a simple way of gluing them down right where she wanted them by using the tip of her embossing stylus to transfer some bonding memories glue to the tiny circles.
In this fun popcorn sleeve, (complete with a pull-ribbon that pulls the popcorn right out of the sleeve), the artist turned the confetti into popcorn, using yellow and white papers and piling them on generously.
And of course everyone loves a good shaker card. Our artist attached a memory protector to her card base by sewing around three sides, leaving the top open. She then dumped in some confetti, and then sewed across the top to close it off. Doesn’t that look fun?
