Spotlight on Art: If Friends Were Flowers

I’m delighted for another fabulous Spotlight on Art entry – I’ve received so many submissions it is getting harder and harder to narrow them down! This week’s entry comes from a long-time Consultant and good friend, Karen Pedersen. Karen’s focus is the Lucy paper pack and Workshop on the Go stamp set, which features some especially friendly flower stamps.

Lucy is such a great paper for celebrating girl power, just like Karen has done in this layout, featuring four generations of the girls in her life – aren’t they lovely? The Lucy Workshops on the Go stamp set is the perfect tool for creating those pink flowers, which fit perfectly with the paper design – what a simple and beautiful way to embellish a page.
These stamp images are especially simple and user-friendly because they are also Cricut compatible! That means you can cut the flower shape using your Art Philosophy cartridge and stamp your image directly over it to get a perfect embellishment without having to trim around the edges with your scissors. That makes cutting and stamping the four fun flowers on this square card quite a bit quicker. Karen’s added just a touch of prisma glitter for variety as well – what a nice touch!
Here is another card using the great Lucy papers together in a similar color scheme, and another Cricut-compatible flower image from the same set. You’ll also spot a few other Art Philosophy shapes working together in this thank-you card as well.
And if pink isn’t your thing, this tasteful card shows that same stamp image in a completely different context. It holds down the focus of this card with great poise, while also pulling double duty in the background image. I love everything about this card, Karen!
With or without the Lucy B&T papers, this stamp set is a star. On this clean, simple card, the flower is framed by a beautifully executed background image Karen stamped inside of a circle mask. Karen my friend, let me know what item you’d like me to send you in return for letting me share your gorgeously girly artwork.
