Spotlight on Art: A little Diversity

The artwork I’m spotlighting from the studio today focuses on a specific stamp set from the Spring / Summer 2012 Idea Book that promises a lot of diversity. It is the Diverse Background stamp set (D1508), and it features four tantalizing squares of patterns that can be used to create fabulous backgrounds or effects, as you’ll soon see.

Our artist made this fun monthly calendar out of the My Creations All Sorts Mini Album. Thanks to the Diverse Backgrounds set, each month has a matching polka-dot pattern in a different color – it’s a simple effect to achieve when you’ve got a full palette of inks to choose from. And thanks to the stamp’s size, it only takes a few impressions to cover the whole surface of the calendar page.

Did you spot the same polka-dot pattern on this scrapbook page? Those chipboard letters in the title really stand out, and all it took is a little stamping! Background stamps are a great way to decorate any dimensional elements you’re using!

Last of all is this sweet birthday party invitation. You’d think that stationery was printed professionally, but it was actually stamped! With all the different background stamps we offer, you could make any number of designs of custom stationery and keep people asking you where you get it all printed!

These art pieces really give just a small taste of how diverse background stamps can get, but they do give an idea of how fun they are to play around with. I know it’s easy to shy away from the larger images sometimes, but hopefully today you’ve been inspired to get them out and use them again.
