The arrival of August means one thing around here: a new Idea Book brimming with new products, new project ideas, new tips and techniques, and lots of brand new artwork. So much work and care goes into the creation of each Idea Book, and it definitely shows in the final product. It is an exciting day when the first copies of the Idea Book arrive and get distributed among the employees who finally get to see all their months of hard work come to fruition.
I am very excited for all the new My Reflections kits featured in the new Autumn / Winter 2012 Idea Book, and I know you are going to love them too. The fresh designs are sure to spark new ideas of what you can do with the new kits and their accompanying accessories. Take a look at these layouts – all of which have been made using only My Reflections papers and their coordinating accessories.
Clementine’s cheery warmth is based in three of our brand new neutrals: Champagne, Saddle, and Cashmere. Pairing these with Crème Brulee, Sorbet and a splash of Twilight results in an irresistible color palette. This kit is also complemented by coordinating canvas shapes in a variety of designs from paisleys to stars. This cute kit is a real charmer.
The Dakota kit makes things a little more country, with bold colors and dynamic patterns. The wood grain paper is already a big hit, and so versatile! Foil images make an ideal embellishment for pages made with these papers, adding a little flash to the kit’s rich textures.
Next, soak in La Belle Vie’s luxurious French flavors. This is another kit that brings you new, kit-exclusive pinks and purples. Dress it up with coordinating My Stickease images, featuring beautiful butterflies, flowers, and extravagant flourishes. Use this kit to celebrate love and femininity with a little French flair.
Turning the page over, you’ll come to the Scholastic kit. It’s perfect for book-lovers, students, or anything with a compelling story, like the trip photos shown in the artwork above. The fun, vintage feel of this kit extends into the My Stickease, which provide a variety of fun images for embellishing your artwork in unique and creative ways.
For a more funky flavor, take a look at the new Flirty paper pack! Florals just got a lot more fun. You probably guessed already that this is another paper pack that introduces kit-specific colors for increased variety and flexibility in your crafting. I love the colorful Dimensional Elements that complement the kit, with more of those delightful multi-color flowers as well as other natural images, such as moths, an owl, acorns, leaves, and more.
And for all you Halloween junkies out there (you know who you are), the Moonlight kit is going to be right up your alley. This is perhaps our most versatile Halloween kit to date, with beautiful patterned papers that come together for a perfect Halloween layout, but which can also be used for plenty of other themes as well. Add in an extra touch of spooky with the perfectly lovable Dimensional Element complements.
Last of all comes the festive Pear & Partridge paper pack. Vivid colors in classic styles make this a kit that you’ll absolutely love working with around the holidays. This kit's complementary product is a package of versatile Glittery Rub-ons, great for adding a little sparkle to your layouts and cards.
I know you are going to have a lot of fun flipping through the new Autumn / Winter 2012 Idea Book and even more when you start creating with all these new My Reflections kits. And I want to see your creations! I’m officially re-issuing my call for your artwork submissions to appear in the spotlight here on my blog. I would love to feature your new artwork using the newest products!
Remember, I’d like to see two to four artwork pieces tied together by a similar theme, product, technique, or color combination to feature here on my blog. Photograph your artwork and send the photos to me@jeanettelynton.com along with your name, where you are from, a recipe for your artwork and a description of what makes your artwork unique and cohesive.
I got so many submissions the first time around, and I unfortunately wasn’t able to feature everyone. When you see your artwork in the spotlight here, you’ll get a special prize as well as an exclusive blog badge you can use to share the good news with all YOUR blog readers.
