Spotlight on Art: Enjoy Autumn’s Colors

Today I have a few fall-themed projects from the art studio to help you enjoy this colorful time of year. Before long winter will be settling in, so let’s celebrate these colors while they last!

Few scenes make such compelling backdrops for a picture the way a forest full of fall leaves does. And when you’re looking to scrapbook those pictures, you want to keep with that color scheme. As you can see, Dakota does a nice job of fitting the bill. Notice how our artist masterfully accented the blues in the photo with a few Pacifica accents, as well as the patch from the fun Wrangler Assortment.

The Kraft base of this fun rolodex project is really spruced up by a nice color combination: Chocolate, Crème Brulee, Lagoon, and Autumn Terracotta. Our artist created the rolodex from shapes found on the “U” key on the Cricut Artiste collection. The index cards fit nicely onto wooden dowels that she fit into her tray. Her rolodex is designed to collect creative ideas, but why not make one for your favorite fall recipes, or even as a unique mini-album of family pictures?

We’ve seen this card holder before; it is another of the delightful 3-D objects you can cut using the Artiste cartridge. Here it is decorated for the season and filled with a collection of seasonal 3” x 3” cards. You can see that these cards are simple enough to make in just a few minutes, meaning you can have a whole set of them with very little time commitment. You’ve probably already discovered that you are much more likely to give cards to people when you’ve got the cards already made.

The fleeting nature of this season is part of what makes it so precious. Enjoy it while it lasts, and use it as an excuse to connect with people you love and celebrate those relationships that are most important to you.
