Today’s spotlight artwork comes from a very talented artist, Lisa Stenz, who is also a Close To My Heart Consultant in Temecula, CA. She has shown her knack for creating breathtaking artwork over and over at Close To My Heart events and other instances, and so I am delighted that she has chosen to share her talent with me for this blog.
Lisa chose the La Belle Vie paper pack to create this layout featuring these “vintage” photos she had taken of her children. The combination is simply irresistible, and the level of detail is just exquisite – take a closer look at her use of the Black Tulle ribbon, the Pearl Flourishes, the stitching, the distressing, all the stamped accents, and the Cricut shapes—c’est magnifique!
Next, let’s look at a card she created using the same papers:
Lisa used a scallop square shape from the Art Philosophy cartridge for a card base, added some banner shapes and a few other simple touches. The stamped sentiment comes from a set that comes with the Avonlea Cardmaking Workshops on the Go set.
This beautiful tag may look intimidating, but when you realize it is comprised mainly of shapes from the Artiste cartridge, it feels a lot more do-able. You can see Lisa’s eye for detail in how the leaves are gently folded and inked. That splash of green feels so refreshing in a kit that is much heavier on pinks and neutrals.
Lisa’s final piece shows that same artistic sensibility. The details are gorgeous, but not overpowering. She’s stamped, colored, and cut some flowers from the Jardin stamp set for the front of the card, giving them dimension with 3D foam tape, and balancing them with a few other stamped images, including another sentiment from the Avonlea Cardmaking Workshop set. Have a look at the card when it is open:
I love the warmth of this card and feel that Lisa has done a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the La Belle Vie paper pack in this and all of her projects.
Lisa, thank you so much for sharing with me. Be sure to email me for your chosen prize.
