My Favorite Stamp Set: Sweet as Honey

This past year, I have loved sharing spectacular artwork from the studio, while also featuring stunning artwork from you, my blog readers. I had so much fun with it, that I want to keep it going for the next year, but with a little change. In 2013 I have decided to shift the spotlight a little to feature my favorite product line—our sensational My Acrylix stamp sets! The criteria for submitting are simple: pick your favorite currently-available stamp set, use it to create some artwork showing off its best features, and send me some pictures along with your explanation of why the stamp set is your favorite! I’ve included some more detailed instructions in this post, but now I’d like to get to the fun part—showcasing today’s stamp set!

Our studio artists get to try all the stamp sets, and of course they get to share their favorites with you, too. Today’s post features the My Acrylix Honeycomb stamp set (C1537). We’ll take the artwork one piece at a time to show what the artist loves about this set.

One of the first things that our artist said about why she loves this set was how great the honeycombs are for adding interest to this card. You’ve got several trendy honeycomb-shaped images to choose from with this set. This card shows them off stamped tone-on-tone on Cardstock and then cut out to bring this card a splash of color AND geometry!

This Cricut purse shows how the honeycomb images can be stamped directly on the project as a background image. She has stamped them using Whisper ink on Juniper cardstock for a subtle look. You’ve got to love that “Sweet as Honey” sentiment and how it is set off by the black shimmer trim on this purse. Lovely!

My final example is this scrapbook page, which shows the honeycombs again, this time stamped with colored ink on white paper, trimmed out, and then arranged into a honeycomb mosaic that adds some motion to the page. The set has a nice variety of patterned honeycombs to choose from for achieving multiple effects. You can also see in this example that the artist used some simple masking to use just the “Sweet” part of the sentiment stamp on her scrapbook page.
