It's Mother's Day! I love this day because it gives me a chance to celebrate the incredible women in my life--first and foremost, my own mother, whom I love dearly. She continues to be such a powerful influence in my life, and I am so grateful for her.
As my own daughters grow, I am increasingly impressed and humbled by their maturity in mothering. I have seven beautiful grandchildren, and my daughter Ashley and daughter-in-law Leslie are fantastic, involved, hands-on moms who are also incredibly fun. And because we're such a connected family, I am blessed to see my other daughters Rachel and Aubrey interacting with their nieces and nephews and being such a great part of their childhood. The connectedness of families and the impact we can have on each other is never closer to my heart than on Mother's Day.
And ultimately, I'm so grateful for my own experiences as a mother: those long nights of rocking babies to the late nights of awaiting teenagers to the calls and holidays of extended families. Every second is a blessing (even when we're not sure of that in the moment!). Every one of the mothers in my life will be getting hugged today, along with a heartfelt thanks for their years of dedication and sacrifice. Make sure to share the love and hug the moms in your life who mean so very much!
