There are three things that bring tears to my eyes when I think or speak about them. The first is my children. They are amazing people and I love and respect them so much. The second is the people I work with and work for, from my employees, my teams, and my Consultants in the field. The third thing that stirs much emotion is thinking about my country.
I am so blessed to have been born in the greatest place on earth. I am so grateful for the freedom that it offers, from my freedom of speech to my freedom to worship my God as I see fit. I love the beauty and strength of my country’s people and land. I love being able to make a living and raise my children my way. I love that there is no limit to the success I choose to have so long as I work hard for that success. I am grateful that I am able to live and breathe with joy!
I am especially grateful for those men and women who have sacrificed their lives so that I could live in peace. Every time I see one who serves in our military, I thank them and tell them, “May God bless you always.”
And I’m definitely grateful for the process we go through every election. Though it seems the campaigns have become increasingly negative, I remind myself of the greatness of our democracy and its freedom of expression.
Yes, I love my country. I am loyal and patriotic. For that reason alone I ask each and every one of you to stand and be heard by casting your vote this November. You can make a difference and if that isn’t enough, this is your right and privilege—be responsible with your gift.
I will wear my “I voted” sticker with pride and I hope you will too!

ReplyDeleteYou probably don't remember, but we spoke briefly a few years ago at my first Leadership. When you found out we were a military family - the heartfelt way you thanked our family for our service made a huge impression on me. And, we both had tears in our eyes at the time, too!
As a veteran and Air Force wife, that small moment with you has created an everlasting memory.
Thanks for the reminder to go out and exercise a gift that not everyone in this world has.

I share your same love of country. In every generation of my family we have had family members serve in the military. Next to Halloween and Christmas, my all time favorite holiday is the 4th of July. That's when true patriotism is shown. Many don't realize how greatly blessed we are to have the freedoms we do, and the privileges that are all around us, but it is my hope and prayer that they will realize the importance of electing our government officials, and doing it in a manner that will help progress this great nation, and not hinder it. God Bless America!!! My Home Sweet Home!!!
