What an incredible weekend it’s been! I’ve spent it at the Close To My Heart Album Retreat, one of my favorite events of the year. This year, Consultants and their guests warmed up the winter and started their year off right: as a scrapbooking sisterhood, of course! For those of you who haven’t heard of the retreat, here’s a snapshot: fabulous friendships (new and old), incredible meals, nonstop giveaways, and 11 gorgeous, high-end scrapbook layouts created start to finish. Voila! An entire album, completed in just a weekend. Just add photos, comfy slippers, and a little chocolate, and it really is scrapbooking heaven.
There were so many magic moments for me, including being able to teach two projects, the “Become” cover page and the “Our Love” layout. Later I’ll be posting photos of some of the projects for you to enjoy… they are so beautiful.
I love the retreat because it has an intimate, cozy feeling unlike any other event. I get the chance to dress down (yes, that was ME wearing jeans on Saturday!), and just visit with everyone. You all had such great product ideas and suggestions; I love to hear them all! We snapped photos, swapped stories, and everybody learned some very cool new techniques and product tips to make artwork really come alive. I think we all learned the meaning behind our retreat t-shirt slogan: “Scrapbooking is my happy place.”
Thanks to all of you who participated—I hope Salt Lake City was your happy place this past weekend, too! I’m already getting excited for the next retreat. I can’t wait to see you again!

How does someone get to go to such an elite event? It sounds like a small slice of heaven.

Holy Cow! What an honor to see a picture of me with my roomies, Amy & Michelle, on your blog! That is so cool! Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun at this event. This was my first Album Retreat event that I have ever attended and while I can't say that I got many of the layouts completely done because I was too busy being chatting with everyone around me *hehehe* it was just the lift I needed in my spirit to be surrounded by all my favorite friends. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity. I had a fabulous time and would do it again in a heartbeat. :)
This is my favorite event as well! I love the pace, and the pages this year were AMAZING!!! I love every one of them and can't wait to add my photos.
ReplyDeleteThe friendships are what makes it all such a great weekend and my roommates this year were the best. I was sad to see it all end!
Thank you Jeanette, and all of the corporate staff - you always make us feel like one in a million!
I hope to attend one in the future, they sound so amazing, maybe next year? That was one of my goals this year, to establish my business, so then I will be able to afford to attend :)

The retreat was simply amazing, and now I cant wait until next year. Everything was perfectly organized, the layouts were stunning and it was so wonderful spending time with everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteAs a consultant this is truly one of those events that you wish and hope to attend, just like convention. It is also my goal to be able to grow my business to the point that album retreat and regionals, and convention are yearly sources for me. As well as welcome memory making moments. Thank you Jeannette for making CTMH all that it is and represents for so many of us.
ReplyDeleteJeanette,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the incredible Album! What a treat to have and share with my deepest friend Kristy, it was an amazing experience. This was a slice of heaven to say the least. To be able to feel even more inspired on a personal level talking with you was even more so a blessing! I took some amazing pictures that are priceless to me and had the chance to see some accountability sisters and build relationships on a more intimate level than we do at other Corporate sponsored events.
Oh, I have to say you look fantastic in your jeans! I felt like a princess next to you in my jeans too! I know seems a bit silly but we both have lost so much weight that it was such a treat to have and The Become is YOU!!! so I can't wait to add that to my front page. That is why it stayed empty.
Thank you for sharing your family with us to. How loving and down to earth. Regular people with faith in doing extrodinary things.
I will tresure dearly every moment I had there. Oh, & Temple Square just breathtaking. I had warm fuzzies even when it was so cold it didn't feel that way for a moment during my walk. That itself was so priceless and my son loved everything I brought back to him. Thank you again, you really are a so genuine and certainly someone I aspire to become.
Oh how fun!!! I need to plan for the next one....Living in Idaho its really just a short drive to Utah.....It looks like such a great time!!!

ReplyDeleteI love attending Album Retreat because I feel so spoiled! I get to sponge up new tricks and techniques that I can come home and share with my customers and others! The pages are as always off the chart amazing!

ReplyDeleteJeanette,
ReplyDeleteI had so much fun at the retreat...and so did my husband. While I was scrapbooking he was skiing. Hope we can do this the same time next year. It was an awesome event to remember.
Hugs,

Dear Jeanette, This was my 3rd retreat and I had the most wonderful weekend. Every detail was plannd and executed with such style and thoughtfulness. Even the chocolate covered strawberries were a fabulous touch to such a fun afternoon. The artwork on the pages was absolutely spectacular for me.. Thank you for hosting this event and I like others look forward to many more.
ReplyDeleteI missed this event again and wished my husband wasn't serving in Iraq. Maybe next time...It looks like everyone had a great time!
