I think I’m getting more sentimental and nostalgic every year. I mean, I’ve always loved receiving cards—their sweet messages can brighten the rainiest day or buoy sagging spirits. But nowadays, more than ever, I love KEEPING cards. Every single one of them. And I don’t just want to keep them, I want to keep them close at hand: cards are treasures I discover again and again, revisiting a tender thank-you, a “happy everything,” or a friend’s special wish.
Because our core business at Close To My Heart is stamping, it’s been my unique privilege and joy to be on the receiving end of some of the most exquisite cards made by human hands. I save them all. And recently, I’ve started a new passion: showcasing my growing treasure trove of cards using our fabulous My Creations Memory Keeper. This awesome 9”x9” magnetic-closure box is fabulous! With a little experimentation and the delightful new “Emporium” paper packet, I’ve got two more card keepers for these special mementos. If you haven’t dabbled in the possibilities of this fun product, it’s time to clear out your shoeboxes and create a keeper of your own!

ReplyDeleteMy Great Grandmother or as I knew her, Granny Belle, scrapbooked her cards from the early 1900's in one of the old black page books with black photo corners.
An idea I am going to use with these tremendous boxes is to make a Grandmother's Box for my friends who are becoming Nana's.
Inside will be a prayer journal and a few scrapbooking items so they can over the years build a gift for their grandchild.
What child wouldn't benefit from a praying granny?

Your new cardmaking book, a card class with my consultant, and the CTMH TV show on making cards encouraged me to get started. This memory box is just the next step in encouraging us to step out of our comfort zone and enjoy creating. Thank you for sharing!!

ReplyDeleteI love your idea Jeanette.. I save my cards too! I just made my first Memory Keeper at Regional today & I am so excited to share with my customers. You know I hadn't realized it was magnetic closure until today..I turned around to others on my team and said, "our products really do rock!" :) Thanks so much posing with me for a picture today at Regional. ReplyDeleteI adore the memory keeper boxes so much becuase there are so many ideas for them.
In fact when art & sould debut them I had orders just for the boxes and seen some amazing products from my customers made from them. In fact my mother made a traveling chess board out of one of them for my Grandfather with the magnets storable on the inside as an Christmas gift. He adored it being an avid chess player he just so appreciated it. Like I said many uses and ideas, thanks again for sharing & inspiring my family members to cherish their moments with one another through gift making.

ReplyDeleteI attended the regional celebration this past weekend and i would first like to say that i had a wonderful time. It was absolutely fantastic! Very breathtaking, encouraging and certainly motivational! AND the memory keeper box was the first thing i was going to order when i got back, so when i saw it on the desk waiting for us to put together this weekend, i was so excited. I love the boxes...the knob is a fabulous Idea...I know for a fact 1 paper packet will make many boxes, I did 4 with the Notebook paper...it even worked for my boys! Love CTMH!

ReplyDeleteI made a Memory Box last weekend but I'm having trouble with the handle. Every time I try to open it the handle comes off. I used Liquid Glass to adhere it. What did you use?
