I’m an advocate of all the CTMH colors, of course, but today, I’m a “Petal Pusher”! This week’s color combination showcases this floral favorite along with its kissing cousin, Pansy Purple. These two royal shades were designed to coordinate—they are different intensities of the same hue. I’ve chosen New England Ivy to round out the trio, as any bloom needs its greenery. When working with two tones of a related shade, it’s easy to add instant depth and dimension. Look at the “Dream” card. Here, I used a base-and-shade stamp set. I stamped the flower base in Petal, then the flower outline in Black. To give the center of the flower its great dimension, I used a water brush dabbed in a Pansy Purple ink pad, pulled up from the center of the flower and voila! A gorgeous, multi-toned blossom perfect to end the month of May. My other pieces show just how easy it is to work with both purples in complementary and contrasting schemes for subtlety that’s anything but boring. Pick a bouquet of your own… starting with your favorite “Petal”!
