I've already taken you inside my art studio, which is one of my favorite havens in the whole world. I believe that a beautiful, creative environment is just the ticket for unlocking fresh ideas. My art studio is the place where I create with my hands: experimenting with techniques, testing new stamp designs, exploring color combinations and more!
But I have another creative space I’d like to share with you today. It’s my office at Close To My Heart corporate. Now I know what you’re thinking: how creative can an office be? VERY! My office is my home away from home and it’s where I create with my HEAD: planning new business strategies, mapping out our product plan, or articulating the vision for this company I love so much. I’m a scrapbooker in my heart, but my head is all business—and both sides require a healthy dose of creativity and a happy place to do it in!
Recently, I redecorated my office to infuse a little more beauty and creativity into this space I rely on for business inspiration. Last October’s Mediterranean Cruise made me fall in love with the Tuscan countryside. Those of you who earned that trip know exactly what I mean! The people were vibrant, relaxed,
and happy. The days were warm. The architecture and art were breathtaking. I longed to bring those rich Italian colors, classic leathers, and old-world wrought iron into my office so I could capture that feeling and revisit it every day. Here are some photos of the finished work, and I LOVE it! I went with a creamy yellow paint on one wall that warms up the entire room. I selected some framed oil paintings with bold pops of red to bring the outdoors in. And I’ll admit it: my favorite part of the whole room is the flower-shaped ottoman, which I chose as the centerpiece of the décor.
I’m as happy checking e-mail at my desk as I was strolling through the streets of Florence (or Firenze, for you purists!). When you bring a little beauty to your everyday life, even the routine tasks are more inspired. Here’s to beautiful places and creative spaces!

This is the most beautiful room I've ever seen. It truly looks like a piece of Italy. It's extremely comforting knowing that you are inspired in such beautiful ways. I would love to see paper and stamps that are influenced by your wonderful office. There would have to be a flower ottoman stamp as well :)

Incredibly beautiful room...I think that it is a perfect blend of rich colors. My favorite furnishing is your unusual ottoman...I'd love to know where you scored that find!
ReplyDeleteI love the new decor! I had the priviledge to be in your office before you decorated...that was during Convention in Salt Lake City and CTMH did tours of the corporate building.
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how it must be to sit and gaze out the wonderful windows at nature and to be inspired.
I've always loved Tuscan colors and have used them in my living room. Having the chance to go to the Mediterranean was incredible! Thank you for sharing your office with us...and offering us the ability to earn incredible incentive trips.

ReplyDelete.. most of us are lucky to have a cube at work. So much for havin a "happy and creative" environment when the smell of lunch onions from the neighboring cube assaults your nostrils way past afternoon tea ... And worse. But do high level execs care about that ? ...
