A Passion for Purple!

Do you have a passion for purples? Or do you struggle to use this color well? Well, today’s color combination of Pansy Purple, Petal, Sweet Leaf and Baby Pink proves that purple isn’t just for Donny Osmond’s socks or pre-teen doodling—nope, purples can be dramatic, gorgeous, and very grown up.

Today’s three Valentine-inspired cards use the monochromatic purples as a great backdrop for adorable love-themed sentiments. And because purple is such a strong color, notice that my stamping is very subtle—just a tiny texture or swirl on my heart card, and I’ve used just a kiss of watercolor pencil on my “i wuv you” card. It’s sweet yet still makes a statement.

Check out my over-the-top goodie box too: who wouldn’t love to get these tasty treats on February 14? They’re all so easy—a tag is a great way to dress up an otherwise ordinary bag of cookies, and a lollipop and chocolates go super sweet with treat covers made in minutes.

I hope these ideas inspire you to create your own purple projects this year—in fact; I’d love to see them! A recent comment on my blog suggested that it would be great to see others linking to projects using the combination from Color Me Monday. Great suggestion!

If you’d like to start posting your artwork featuring the Color Me Monday combinations, simply add a link to your comment on that blog’s entry. That way, we can all share in the fun. Until then, wishing you a colorful week!

  1. Dear Jeanette,

Always love your cards and pages and fun crafts. If it would be possible to list the stamp sets used that would be very nice.

    Thanks, Carolyn Stout
