I have to admit it—the first day of Convention packs more excitement than Christmas morning for me and most members of my team. And I think many Consultants would agree with me! Now that I’ve had a few days to regroup from—er, I mean reflect on—the whirlwind of Convention, I thought I’d devote a few posts to sharing a few of my favorite moments from our favorite event of the year.
Thursday morning brought a literal buzz of excitement—the sound in the hallways of the Gaylord National hotel was deafeningly delightful. When we opened the doors and Consultants flooded in to take their seats, I could feel the energy, even backstage! For me, the pinnacle experience of the morning was all the crazy skits and videos we had prepared to introduce new products and programs. What a blast! From my Donald-Trump hair in “Close To My Heart Apprentice” to the wacky costumes of “The Gathering Bunch” and the drama of “Desperate Scrappers,” I found myself laughing so hard during some of the videos, I had to cover my microphone onstage so the audience couldn’t hear me giggling.
But nothing was as memorable—or as audacious—as our staff’s dancing tribute to “All the Scrappin’ Ladies” (with a wink to Beyonce!). I’m sure many of you have heard about this infamous, booty-shaking performance, but in case you haven’t seen it, it’s one for the books—the scrapbooks, that is. I’ve included a Consultant-recorded video of the dance for you to enjoy. And thanks to the most enthusiastic Consultants ever, a fabulous Extravaganza, an awe-inspiring Art Wall, and a delectable Directors’ dinner cruise, the day just got better and better! ReplyDeleteWhat a great time it was. My favorite part of convention were the skits and the "All the Scrapping Ladies" dance too. Everyone danced great and I loved Kristine's butt shake. She's such a ham. I'm glad a fellow consultant thought to film that. It was great. I laughed so hard I cried. CTMH knows how to do conventions well.
ReplyDeleteI've been a consultant for just over 4 years and this was my first convention to attend! I was not disappointed in anyway! I LOVED it! Each minute; each hour left me wanting for more! I was sad when it was time to say goodbye to all my friends that I was finally able to put faces to their names! Thanks for a GREAT party, Jeanette and everyone else at CTMH! I'm looking forward to DisneyLand, 2011!!!

I play scrappin ladies all the time when I need a pick me up at work. Only Scrampers can truly understand. Just makes me laugh.
