Talk about inspiring! Our Convention awards night is truly a celebration of extraordinary accomplishments and extraordinary people. I always conclude these nights renewed and grateful to be surrounded by such capable people who lead with confidence, create with purpose, and live with passion.
This year, several of our top award winners have military connections—being in Washington D.C. made their contributions that much more poignant to celebrate. I love the stories of Rising Stars Amy Muse, Kara Hileman, and Etta Langford—all Consultants less than two years, yet each has made significant contributions in sales and team building, even while being deployed, or living abroad on base, or relocating for family needs. Wow!
We also enjoyed the tremendous talents of pianist Jon Schmidt, whose “mash up” of Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” and Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” literally brought me to tears. His performance showed how mesmerizing and poetic it is to see someone at the top of their game—something made obvious with each award winner who took the stage. Check out his YouTube video below.
The best moment of the night? Watching Consultant Barb Carrico be completely surprised, astounded, and awed when she won top honors of the night as the Spirit of Close To My Heart award winner. The entire audience leapt to their feet to celebrate this woman who perfectly captures the heart and values of the company. Seeing her surrounded by her sweet family was wonderful; feeling the love everyone in the audience had for Barb was pure magic. I didn’t want the evening to end!

I agree, it was a magical night! And having Jon Schmidt provide the soundtrack to the evening was the icing on the cake. Thank you, Jeanette.
ReplyDeleteJon Schmidt is absolutely amazing!! My daughter is very lucky to be able to perform with him at our school in the children's choir he and his wife volunteer for. It's so much fun and the kids love it! Congrats to all the award winners. Besides all the other wonderful things at convention, missing Jon Schmidt was another reason I was sad I couldn't attend this year.
