Questions, Questions!

One of my favorite parts of our 2010 Convention was the chance I had to field questions from Consultants. Some of the questions were serious, others were downright hilarious. Others asked about Close To My Heart’s products and strategies, others still queried about the goings on in my personal life. Honestly, I enjoyed answering them all!

I’d love to know what’s on your mind and what questions you have for me as we begin a new year. Want to know what’s in my purse? My favorite book of late? What makes our stamps unique? What our goals are for 2011? What new product lines we’re planning to reveal at Convention this year—oh, wait, I can’t answer that one! If it’s a question I CAN answer, I’d be more than happy to—always excited to hear what’s on your mind.     Jeanette .. I'm going to go personal here instead of CTMH (which I would have loads of ?'s). I know you enjoy cooking (me too!). What are your 3 favorites recipes that you enjoy making?

    Hi Jeanette! I would love to know how you are able to "predict" and plan for the next big scrapbooking trends? I see our products and then I see other product lines advertised and I think to myself, "wow Jeanette did a great job!" Our product line always aligns with other big companies. We always one-up them though!

    Hi Jeanette,

    I was wondering how you and your staff decide which Stamp of the Month should be with which month. When I got the new Spring/Summer Idea Book for 2011 I noticed that July's SOTM is all about 4th of July and patriotism. I love it but thought it should have been June's so we could use it for the 4th of July. Getting it in July is too late.....in my humble opinion. Same thing with Sweetheart.....seems like it's too late to make Valentine's Day goodies in February. These are just thoughts I had when I was planning my workshops and classes for the next 6 months.

    Thanks for all you do for all of us. I love our company and all it allows me to do and be a part of.

    Jeanette, I've always wondered if you would ever consider "guest designers" Say, a consultant like myself with ideas & designs. It could even be a contest! Design a stamp set or even a sketch for the WOTG. Sure would be exciting!

    Well, since I got a Kindle for Christmas, I would love for you to share a few books that you have enjoyed. I love seeing what books other people read. I've stumbled across some great books that way...

    When you are making a layout or card, how do you choose/pick out the appropriate stamp sets when there are so many choices? Do you go with the more current, or do you have favorite go to sets? Or is there another way that you go about doing it?

    Jeanette, Awhile back we filled out a questionaire. Some of the questions asked us about "cutting systems". Are there any plans for Close To My Heart to create their own die cut system?

    Our stamps are already the 'cake' and a die cut system would be the 'icing' on top!!

    Just wondering....I live in Plano Tx and would love to work at your headquarters. As I do not live in Utah, I was wondering if you ever decided to have a warehouse and ship from here too(split the country in half and maybe save on shipping costs) If you ever decide to do such a thing, I am a consultant (basically for the discount-- i don't have a team) and I would love to work in shipping for you( I love the smell of the stamps when I receive them!!) I know I'm not crazy because my sister lives in FL and says she loves the smell of her new orders too! Let me know if you decide to expand to the Texas borders--I'm part time and would love to fill oders!! Thanks Karen

    When I was a kid I was obsessed with everything 'My little Pony', and I mean everything! I had My Little Pony sheets, sleeping bag, backpack and every single toy that my parents would allow. To this day I still have vivid memories of how they smelled and how their hair felt(much like CTMH stamps and paper:)) I was wondering what your favorite toy as a kid was, and what your best memory of it was?

    Hi Jeanette:

    I am a Consultant LOVE CTMH!! My question for you is in regards to expanding consultant status to our friends overseas. I have a couple customers in Australia who order every month. One was very interested in joining CTMH but couldn't so she went to Creative Memories instead. Is there any talk about expanding the business overseas? :o)

    I saw the comment regarding the smell of the stamps. I must admit that at unit meetings you can catch several of us sniffing the papers or stamps. LOL It is one of my favorite smells too. However the smell of woodchips or driving past a papermill always reminds me of my dad. He worked in one for 30 years and now that he's gone whenever I come across that smell I think of him.

    So my question is what is your favorite scent and why?

    CTMH idea books and others books such as Reflections, Cherish, Magic, etc. are wonderful. Do you ever see a book being created that would include items made just from consultants. I would love to see other consultants scrapbook pages, cards, etc. in one book with lots of pages (100 or more pages). These books don't need instructions, just the materials used and the authors name. :-) Thanks for all you do!

    I read that you have been scrapbooking since you were a teenager...if that is true do you still have those books? If you do, do you every go back to those and think about how much has changed in scrapbooking since the time you started?

    Do you think we could ever have convention on a cruise ship? Probably just dreaming here,but was just thinking of all of us that would love to "cruise" with CTMH, but are unable to achieve the incentive trips. Maybe just an "onboard retreat"? I have looked into scrappin cruises before, but would only want to do it with CTMH as we have some of the most creative people I have ever seen with our great company!

    I want to thank you for the opportunity to ask you a question, but first I want to say I really love CTMH!

    My question is related to being a mom, what piece of advice or wisdom have you passed onto your children that they have relied upon or they refer to when they have been troubled or doubtful of themselves?

    I hope that makes sense the way I phrased it. You have a very positive outlook on life and wondered how you maintain it.

    I got some clear embellishments a long time ago and I still have no idea what to use them on! I don't have them handy to know the official name, but there were birds, hearts, and other shapes. What do I do with them?!

    I have 2 questions;
    1. I neeeed eyelets in our other colors!!!!
    MUST have eyelets! When will we see new eyelet colors?

    2. I would love to hear some ideas and thoughts on how those of us who work an outside-the-home job can still keep our CTMH business going as well.
    Cuz ya know…there aren't just enough hours in a day!

    Is there any chance CTMH will bring back the 6X6 albums? They were SO versatile and were perfect for cookbooks, and gifts. I miss them SO much!

    I wish that you would think of the card markers when picking out the bulk papers. I so wish you would pick the smaller prints, stripes, and smaller florals.

    Also we still don't have many choices for the boys and males.

    I created and sold over 450 cards in 2010.

    One of the things I like the best about CTMH, is the double side B&T and exclusive color palette.

    What motivated you to make the new changes we are seeing in the company, such as 2 books per year, retiring of papers more often, etc. I don't mean for it to sound snarky - I get bored with things after a while and wondering if that's what it was for you or if you see the market making some big changes.

    Hi Jeanette, just want to say that I've been to two conventions, and even though I haven't met you [yet], you seem to be such a warm, wonderful, sincere person. I love being a consultant, but CTMH corporate must be a wonderful place to work under your guidance. My question is, do you scrapbook at home (as well as at work)? Does everyone in your family scrapbook? And do you all scrapbook together?
