Can't Stop Laughing

Thank you, thank you, my dear friends for writing in such hilarious happenings and smarty-pants sayings from all your little ones! In our executive team meeting this week, we have been sharing our favorites and laughing so hard our sides have ached. My face hurts from smiling, and I've giggled out a few wonderful tears. My gosh, it's good to laugh—and it's even more wonderful to celebrate the beauty and innocence of sweet children. I hope you've had a chance to read through some of the stories; they are all priceless and so well told!

Then, I also promised I'd select one special winner by hand—a story that made me laugh out loud. This was a MUCH MORE DIFFICULT task than I ever imagined, and I've been torn among several hilarious entries. After much deliberation and more laughing than a single human being should do in a day, I have selected a winner.

"My amazingly funny and witty 7-year-old keeps me in stitches. One Sunday three years ago, growing tired of fighting him on what was appropriate church attire, I finally explained 'boys wear a tie or sweater to show we follow Jesus as a way of respect and reverence.' He quickly responded, 'I don't want to follow Jesus. I am following Vader so I don't have to wear a tie!'"
