Mini albums make really fun projects: they are fun to make, fun to look at, and fun to show off! One of the things I love about mini albums is how there are so many ways to make them. We have multiple chipboard mini albums that already give you a lot of flexibility, but there are even more ways to approach mini-album making. Today’s spotlight artist from the Art Studio shares a couple of her great ideas.
This gorgeous mini-album is made from just paper—no chipboard required! All the pages and embellishments in this album were cut using shapes from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.
With her Cricut machine doing all the work of cutting the shapes, the artist had a great time piecing together each elaborate page. She did a fabulous job of commemorating a one-of-a-kind vacation in a one-of-a-kind mini album.
Another great idea for creating mini albums in a snap uses 4"x6" Flip Flaps.
In this case, the artist has created seasonal recipe books by printing recipes onto 4” x 6” pieces of cardstock, embellishing with a few well-chosen stamps for color, and then sliding them into flip-flaps. She cut the covers using the Art Philosophy cartridge (it is so handy!) and bound them together using jump rings.

Mini-albums are one of my favourite things to make! At Christmas, they're a great and personal stocking stuffer. I'm making one right now, about my son's First Communion, using the My Creations Bookmark Album and Pemberley papers. It's going to be beautiful and a special keepsake of his blessed day.
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge fan of mini albums. My most recent project was a keepsake mini for my Mother featuring photos of her newest great grandson. Thanks to Art Phil and the Elemental papers, I was able to cut the pages, title, and various accents quickly and easily.
ReplyDeleteI just finished making a mini album using tags from the Art Philosophy cartridge. They even have a mini carrying case that is the french fry box. I used Footloose paper and cardstock for it. I love it...
ReplyDeleteI have plans to make one for each of my kids about their favorite childhood toys and also special Christmas ornaments they have been given and will someday inherit for their own tree! I am also making some flower girl ones for my daughter and her cousin who were flower girls together in a wedding.
