Spotlight on Art: Simply Spooky

If you love Halloween, then the Artiste cartridge is going to be a big hit with you—take a look at just a sampling of the spooky shapes made simple for you to cut using just one key off this sensational cartridge!

Here’s a banner that illustrates perfectly what I mean. One of the shapes you will find is a tri-fold card in the shape of a bat. One of our creative artists turned those bats into the perfect Halloween banner, complete with sparkle eyes that glint at your party guests. The “spooky” letters cut together as a single image but are trimmed apart easily enough to give your banner this look. In this example, the bats were cut at 2 ½” while “Spooky” was cut at 4”.

This is a fun name plate idea using some more Artiste shapes. You’ll find the headstone with the “RIP” layer, the cat, and the 2-part skeleton on this fun-filled holiday key. You may recognize the skeleton as the shape VP Brian Holman used to explain how the shapes are linked, taking the guesswork out of layering cuts. This super spooky coffin box is perfect for holding treats or just as a décor piece! I love how simple it is to create a shadowed image using the Cricut, like the words “Eek” on this card: just cut the same shape twice at the same size using different colors of paper, and then slightly offset them when you layer them. All the precision cutting is done for you.
