Spotlight on Art: Dimensional Dakota

Before the next Idea Book comes out, I want to recognize one more Consultant artist who submitted her artwork for this spotlight feature. I so appreciate all of you who have submitted your lovely artwork for consideration; this has been so much fun, I think I am going to keep it going, but a little bit differently. For today, I want the spotlight to be on Melinda Everitt, a Consultant from Collierville, Tennessee. She wrote to me about her post-Convention excitement which inspired some Cowboy-themed 3-D projects using the sensationally cowboy-inspired Dakota paper pack and the Cricut Artiste cartridge. Have a look:

This super stylish Cricut purse made from the lovely Houndstooth B&T paper is a great example of how these papers, which are more masculine in nature, can still be feminine. The little Pacifica bow accent is a very tasteful touch!

I really love these fun shirt pouches that you can cut with the Artiste cartridge. The Dakota B&T Melinda chose makes a real statement—whether as a shirt or as a treat bag! She puts the paper’s zip strip to good use on this project, again pulling Pacifica out for an accent color. But Pacifica is more than just an accent color in her next project:

These papercrafted baby shoes have been a popular project idea from the Artiste cartridge, and I have loved seeing them brought to life in so many different variations. Melinda blinged up these dainty duds with some bitty sparkles and rhinestone brads. These paisley shoes really make you want to hop out for a little line dancing, don’t they?
