My Favorite Stamp Set: Outta This World

I have received several submissions from you readers for this stamp set feature, and I am excited about the work I am seeing! Keep the submissions coming by all means! Today I’ve selected the artwork of Valerie Hudson, a Close To My Heart Consultant from Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. Her artwork highlights the Outta This World stamp set (C1523), which we’ve featured before, but which Valerie shows off in fun, inventive ways that you’ll want to try for yourself.

Let’s start with this fun easel card. Of course one of the fun parts of this stamp set is the fact that so many of the images match images found on the Cricut Artiste cartridge. The robot, the star, the UFO, and the planet were all cut out of cardstock—or silver glitter paper in the case of the planet!—and then stamped on with their perfectly matching shape. Valerie also made note of how easy it was to add a little life to her robot with just a bit of coloring using the blending pen and some Ruby ink.

This fun interactive card features a rocket ship that Valerie couldn’t resist coloring with Honey ink to look like a taxi. She used foam tape sandwiched between two buttons to create the slider feature that allows the rocket to orbit around another sparkly planet. The “flames” emanating from the rocket are tiny strips of Ruby cardstock!

Next up, Valerie sent a couple of ideas using the treat tubes. First, she showed a rocket stamped directly onto a treat tube using StazOn ink:

Then she added some flair around her tube:

Creating a base out of cardstock, she adorned it with another stamped robot, some glossy fringe from some leftover New Year’s Eve items, and another silver glitter paper planet, this one stamped with Lagoon ink. She even filled her tube strategically with blue candies on top and orange ones beneath, so when it is pulled from its box, it will be like the rocket is blasting off from its launch pad!
