The 4th Day of Thanksgiving: My Faith

When I was in my 20s my best friend Joni died of cancer, shortly after giving birth to her fourth child. In the years since, I’ve bid farewell to several friends, and although these losses have been difficult, they haven’t been tragic. That’s because I believe.

I believe that my friends and family who have left this life are still alive—vibrant, working, and waiting for us to rejoin them. I believe that the hardships we encounter are meant to refine us, not reduce us. And I believe the Lord has a plan for me—for each of us. I love the quote that “faith makes things possible, not easy,” and I’d like to add to it that faith makes things PURPOSEFUL. Faith gives me reason to move forward even when my challenges seem great. Today I’m grateful for the blessing of faith. I’m grateful to know that trials are temporary, but faith is forever.

  2. Thank you for inspiring increased faith in your friends! Faith has always been my blessing and my trial all wrapped into one. I love to hear you talk about yours, because it makes me want to share mine with others as well. Thank you!

  3. A beautiful reminder Jeanette that even during our trials we can lean on and believe that we are not alone as long as we have FAITH.

  4. I'm so glad you now have a place to blog about your faith!**
I love sharing my faith with others too, and I love to encourage people to grow their faith (especially HS youth and college kids). Our God is a mighty God, but, he is also concerned with our daily trials. Because He is not far off, He wants us to bring our concerns to Him. I just love praying for specific requests, and see Him answer them specifically as I requested.
**CTMH is great (but not a venue for faith talks). Because I love to talk about faith issues, I'm loving this blog! Keep sharing, Jeannette.
