Make the Outdoors Great

It’s fun, exciting, and sometimes a little scary being married to a man who loves the outdoors as much as my husband David. Not only is he active in Search and Rescue, as I mentioned last week, he’s simply an all-around outdoor enthusiast who believes the worst day of mountain biking is better than the best day spent indoors. He is friends with a group of men who share the same passion for rocks, mountains, and dirt in general. Today’s Color Me Monday color scheme was inspired by this crazy, wonderful gang of guys and a biking trip they took to Moab, Utah.

I pulled the sky, sun, red rocks, and valley scrub together to create the perfect scheme for the “great outdoors”: Indian Corn Blue, Sunflower, Desert Sand, and Olive. This can’t-miss combination is the ideal complement to David’s “guys’ weekend” photos… did you check out the photo of David and his bicycle perched on the edge of a cliff? I’m not sure whether it’s the color combination or that daring photo, but this artwork really gets my heart pounding!

To explore the calmer side of the combination, I pumped up the soothing blue on my two cards, using the other colors just as supporting accents. See how versatile the combination is?
