Acrylix Inspiration!

Answer: It wasn't so much inspiration as it was determination! For many years, we worked with polymer stamps, but in a different format and only for creating labels for our wood stamps. I understood the durability and flexibility of the material and how lightweight and compact it was for storage. So I had stamps made in the clear material. The more I played with clear stamps, the more "clearly" I saw the future of the industry. I knew that bulky, opaque, wood-mounted stamps just didn't make sense, given the beauty and crispness of the images from clear stamps as well as their ease of storage and organization.

My mind was made up. Back then, several of my closest advisors told me I was crazy to convert the company's bread-and-butter product so dramatically. They encouraged me to come out with a dual product line — some in wood/rubber and some in clear polymer, just to "test" the response and make sure Consulants didn't bolt. I couldn't be swayed. I told them, "How can Consultants believe me when I say that My Acrylix is great if I'm offering them some other product 'just in case' at the same time?" No, I knew we had to go bold, believe in the decision, and share that belief. There have been many scary decisions I've made over the past 27 years in business, but this wasn't one of them: I knew we'd revolutionize stamping, and we did!
