Do you ever look at your child and wonder:
"Where did he get those blue
eyes?" or "Where did she get such a feisty spirit?"
Sometimes the answers
to those questions are easy (just look in a mirror), and sometimes there
seem to be no answers at all. As my own four children have grown up to
become four unique, talented,and completely different individuals, I've found myself asking that question more than once, as they surprise me with their wisdom, their dreams, and abilities that surpass anything I might have been able to give them.
As exhibit A, I invite you to check out this
video, shot by my son Jared, who
says he was "just messing around at the piano" one day and decided to turn the camera on. This is his rendition of Adele's "Rumor Has It," and after watching it, I found myself grinning
with a mixture of pride and astonishment. I don't know where Jared gets
it, but he's definitely got it! Enjoy.

ReplyDeleteJared...you rocked it! Jeanette, I'm not at all surprised by Jared's amazing talent, you're his Mom! AND most of the gals out there don't realize you sing opera! You've been holdin' out on us! :) Give Jared a great big hug for me (from the music therapist, bren) and tell him to keep on singin', he needs to share more of his mojo with the world!

Jeanette, I hope you teared up watching this...I know I'd cry to see my daughter doing something she loved and really excelled at. Way to go, Jared. Hope to hear more from you. You have an incredible voice and incredible range.
