Spotlight on Art: Some Artwork “Just For You”

Today’s spotlight artist is from Pleasant Grove – she lives less than 10 minutes away from the Close To My Heart office. Our neighbor Christina Steel has submitted some fabulous artwork featuring a B-size stamp that has a lot of potential. The stamp set is B1298 Just For You – just take a look at some of the projects Christina has created using this stamp set:

The 3” x 3” card pictured here was made using just Colonial White Cardstock, a snip of baker’s twine, the Just For You stamp set, and a few stamp pads. The petals from the stamp set when stamped and trimmed turn into beautiful layers of scallops that make this card a lot of fun!

Christina also used Colonial White Cardstock on this card, resourcefully tracing the decorative edge of one of our Die-Cut cards. For her flower, she actually stamped the flower and leaf images on the back of a B&T paper from the Stella paper pack. She used the stamped images as guides to poke holes using her piercing tool and then threaded through some embroidery floss. The end result is just lovely!

Last of all is this fun centerpiece, which Christina says is the product of a 3 am epiphany:

Using the same stamp set, she stamped the petals in a flower shape on one of the Stella B&T papers. She then made some cuts – on some she cut just a line to the center of the flower, or else she cut out one or two petals. Overlapping and gluing the petals on either side of the cut, she then had a 3D flower of her own creation! She added buttons to the center and used wire to hold the flower onto the sticks she had gathered, which she then planted in a baby food jar full of standard fish bowl marbles. What a delightful project!
